Right now Silicandy is involved with a few global community projects that are helping to improve poverty-stricken lives for the better.
We are proud to have been able to donate our silicone molds to Women's Initiative The Gambia. Women’s Initiative The Gambia was founded in 1997 and is working to address poverty reduction, food security, women and youth empowerment, environmental protection, and income generation through solar fruit drying and solar cooking and baking.
The women will use our molds in the solar cookers to make homemade soap, cakes and other baked goods which are a special treat in The Gambia!
We will be posting pictures soon, and feel free to click on the video link below to learn more about this awesome organization that is working hard to change these poverty-stricken families future for the better.
You can always donate money, but we at Silicandy® strongly believe that the highest form of “charity” is to help the recipient learn how to make money and produce the living they need.
This is not unlike our belief that you can take care of a child’s every need, cook for them and never let them in the kitchen, and they will eat, but the best thing you can do for them is to let them in, teach them at a young age, and it will help them tremendously in their journey to becoming confident, productive adults!
